Did anyone else see this episode? It pretty much blew me away at the end.

Yup. I guess it means that Sarah is unlikely to be the mother or appear in future episodes (I guess it's possible that Stella may come back but you'd imagine it might be difficult for her to be accepted after leaving Ted so dramatically).

Yea this topic seems to be really popular on some other forums. This was the episode that seemed to answer all the questions. Everyone now knows why Sarah said she didn't know if she was going to be the mother. She couldn't give the storyline away. I was just so shocked that the episode ended the way it did. I kinda knew they weren't going to get married. But for Stella to be so cold hearted like that was unusual. It now seems that Robin telling Ted that their breakup a year ago wasn't so long after all. And saying she always thought he was going to be there for her as a backup is going to set up a problem between Ted and Barney. Being Barney is still in love with her. It will be interesting to see how Ted can pick up the pieces.

It was a surprising reversal. If Stella had feelings for her ex (which were strong enough for her to abandon Ted on their wedding day) she must have felt them all along (and so it's hard to see why she would have gotten so serious with Ted in the first place).

Very true. But its still wierd that she could have feelings for her ex after so many years of not being together. I would of just figured that they would of faded a bit over some time. I still feel for my ex girlfriend but its been 2 years since we dated. And if the situation was the same i would never leave someone just to have another shot with her again.

They do have a kid together (and I guess have seen each other quite a bit when dropping off and picking up Lucy from each other as they have shared access) which might make a difference.

Yea but when a child is involved you notice quickly to see if anything was still there. You start to realize that maybe it was just a misunderstanding or if it was stupid to be fighting. If something serious is still there you find out before a few years go by. Thats just what i have found out through personal experience and by learning the hard way.
